It has now became a tradition that Belgium-Luxemburg Union of Geologists (BLUG-UBLG) and “Geologica Belgica” (The Belgian Geological Society) organise every year a “Geological Job Fair and Master Day”.
This year it will be held on February 28th in Mons University and will be part of the events organised for the 175th anniversary of the “Faculté Polytechnique de Mons”.
The “Salle Académique” lecture room is booked at the Faculté Polytechnique de Mons (31 boulevard Dolez, second floor, 7000 Mons), offering about 100 seats and space for poster boards.
The concept of this event is simple: second year Masters as well as Ph. D. students in geology of all Belgian Universities are invited to meet representatives of various companies, recruiting geologists or geoscientists. At this occasion first contacts between students and companies representatives can be established. Some companies give a presentation (most of the time these are the bigger companies), others display a poster and have documentation available.
Third year Bachelor students in geology of Belgian Universities are also invited. For these students, information on Master programs of the various Belgian Universities is given through poster presentations.
This afternoon event starts at 14h00 and finishes with a drink.
We ask a small financial participation to help supporting the organisation of this meeting, namely 200 Euros for large companies and 50 Euros for the small ones.
If your company is interested in participating into this “Geological Job Fair and Master Day”, please contact Dr Yves Vanbrabant (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Nuno da Silva (email@example.com).
